Default Hello

Whats up Guys,Gals Iam Kinda new here but didnt really post here in the newbie section when i first signed up here, i currently dont drive an STI yet but plan to get one in the near future within a year or so. I recently just graduated High school. and i plan to go to college and buy an Sti at some point. I am involved in alot of car forums, mostly Nissan because i currently drive a nissan maxima wish it were a six speed. i plan to go to the car dealer sometime this month to go test drive some sti's and evo's to see what i like better but I am more or less leaning towards an Sti if anything. I will be 18 this saturday so that would make me a legal adult lol. so i could get in more trouble in that car then I would be at 17. Also i dont neccsarily plan to modfiy the car right away because Iam going from a 255 HP to a 300 AWD HP car lol. if anything id probably do an exhaust and Intake right now. Would be be able to find an Sti within 20G if not a little more I plan to pay the car off as soon as possible that way i dont get hammer with insurance and a car payment at the same time. that way ill only have to worry about insurance and gas and you only be insurance twice a year every "6 months" which aint bad. later on in the month i will be working for a Temp Agency making 9.50 to 10.00 an hour not bad so that would help me save some money plus i could always invest my graduation money which is quite a bit. If anyone has suggestions or comments or conplaments please feel free to post. ill more or less agree with you on what you say. everyone is entilted to there own opinion and I respect that. I know how kids are these days where they say all the only reason you drive an Sti or because mommy and daddy bought it for you. for me that wont be the case.

Welcome to IWSTI. Please read the stickies and enjoy the forums.

Keep it stock til you get out of college for a few reasons.

1) Reliability. Stock cars, by and large, are more reliable than modded ones. Exceptions: protunes.
2) Cost. Mod money can pay for classes, books, gas, tires, food, raincoats, etc.
3) Haters. They're everywhere, but they especially reside on campus where alcohol is a culture all its own. Save the money to take care of any nicks and scratches that the insurance deductible isn't worth paying on.
4) Cops. In case you go to school in a state where they inspect, keep it stock to avoid hassles with law enforcement.
5) Insurance. A stock car costs a lot to insure, but if you put a lot of bucks into mods, you'll want to insure them with a rider. Which costs.
6) Most importantly: experience. Learn to drive the stock car well. Then you'll realize what the benefits are of each mod more acutely.
