just got my 05 STi, finally!

Whats up everyone, I am new to the subies but ever since the STi came to the states in 04 I have wanted one. Of course going through college made it impossible to buy one when they became available. So now that I am out of school, I finally was able to get my 05 STi which is my favorite year of the STi's. Now that I have one I love it even more than before. I am looking forward to future mods and I hope you guys will be able to help me out on putting together a sweet ride.

Oh and another thing, I was going to get a turbo timer but I was told by a respected car tuning place that they are not necessary in the newer cars like my STi. If anyone could shed some light on this, please do. Thanks

Congrats!

You do not need a turbo timer, the STi's turbo is water cooled and when the car shuts off, due to the design of the cooling system, coolant still run through for a bit to cool down the engine/turbo.

thanks man so i guess i will put that $150 bucks toward something better, i am thinking the cobb ap and the cobb tbe.

Tanabe racing medallion exhaust. Low, sweet tone although a bit loud but you get used to it really fast. It is the sweetest i ever heard on one.

Congrats. I agree with you that '05 was the best year...until '08.

(I didn't get an STI in '05 because I needed the hatch/wagon space.
