Thumbs up from jeeps to subies

hey guys wats goin on. first of all i want to apologize for any dumb questions i might ask in the near future. im a former jeep guy...so ask me any question about jeeps and i got the answer. used to belong to all the jeep forums so i can pretty much figure my way around. anyway i got a 2007 STi, obsidian black pearl, spt intake and exhaust.

im looking for some advice on which downpipe to get? and im looking to get the AP and running stg 2. anybody got any helpful advice? i read that il prob have to get a protune (or its better?). anybody know a good shop in northern NJ? thanks!

JC

Hey JC, I too am coming from a Jeep so I'm sure I can share some of your pains, lol. I have a 1999 GC Limited 4.6L that I cannot wait to donate. The final straw was when my heater core went for the second time after only 6 months. The Jeep has been nothing but problems, and although I respect its performance and capabilities, I will never buy Jeep again.

Welcome. The downpipe question is oft asked, and I'll give you the same answer I always give: read read read. There's lots of good information, and there isn't a "best answer."

As for a shop in NJ, look in the northeast regional forums.

Welcome! I personally would ditch the intake till you get tunned. Stock cars don't really like an intake. As for downpipe I would recomend invidia, maddad,or helix. Their all good companys just prefference really.

Engine management might be the single most important thing when modding an STI with power mods. Remember that and you will be ok.
