Car past its prime? What the **** are you talking about?

If you properly maintain your car, you can add a rocket pack to the roof if you like. Mileage has nothing to do with it.

I'd like to see someone's argument against modding with any mileage.

I would mod an sti at 100k it just really depends on the tune and how bad you abuse the car.

I've done FP Green + Meth, at 60k miles and I'm just now at 68k . So, it's never to late .

I put the AP and downpipe on at 50K. I didn't get protuned until 62K or something like that. I'm at 76K now and I run perfectly. But I always complete routine maintenance.

Definitly past its prime, its time for a build block, gt35r turbo, fmic, stg. III clutch.

get it tuned for sure, but man, if you take care of it you are way good.

i put 37k on in one year, and at 300+whp, my car runs like day one.

I sure hope that's not too many miles. I just installed a Cobb APv2 on mine with 126,000 miles on it. Actually, I felt just as confident going to stage 1 now as I would have 100,000 miles ago. It's all about how you take care of your car. I have a feeling I'll be moving up to stage 2 before too long.

If you are at all concerned about the car take it to a shop and have a compression and leak down test done to make sure the engine is healthy. If it has ring sealing issues then adding more boost and fuel could further an already deteriorating situation. But if the car was not abused and you did regular maintenance on it, then I see no reason adding mods now would harm it. Though were I in your shoes I would save money on that intake as, without a protune, even cold air intakes wont make much if any power.
