Default Maybe a newb question??

Hey all, been reading up a bit here and a couple other forums. Can you all tell me about the remotes for the keyless lock on the WRX? will an old '04 remote work on an '07? Will the computer recognise the signal from an '04 remote on a '07 car?

The remotes have to be programmed with a code individual to each car. The year of the remote makes no difference AFAIK. When you buy the car new, there is a little metal tag on the keychain that gives this code. Getting a new remote requires this code.

Hope that helps.

Well, my buddy actually bought a remote off of ebay, and he was able to program his car to recogise the signal. The process envolves switching the key off and on 10 times in 15 seconds then some other stuff. But he bought an '04 remote for his '04.
