I'm gonna stick with the 05's. After seeing them smoked like that, I can see why people want the 05's. the 07's look a little to altezza for me. I had just wondered as to why my 07 would be coming with 05's thats all.

Do not buy that BOV! Its a waste of money for the car without a turbo swap. Pick up a used AP and you will be good too go

One of the best color combos. SWP + Gold BBS = teh sex
First thing you should do is engine management. We can't stress that enough. If you want a little more sound, do the snorkus delete (search for it). Easy free mod for the intake. Good luck with the sale/buy.

Anyway, saw you mention above maybe getting a bov with the disposable cash you will have at purchase. Let me tell you that kind of talk will get you flamed mercilessly (ok that's not entirely true because this is a great community). At any rate bov's are not the best (checkout the stickies) and probably not needed until way down the road after a turbo swap. You'd be much better putting that money toward something else.
Cool, thanks for the advice man. Good to hear the iwsti community is friendly (somewhat) cause on clubrsx.com or vwvortex.com the noobs get eat'n alive.

Aw don't bash clubrsx. I was a member on that forum for years when I had my type-s. It was ok. But seriously iwsti is by far my best experience with any internet forum discussing any topic ever. Tons of great people and information here; great vendor support, everything.

Just remember no bov's

EDIT: I justed looked back at the pic in your first post and thought its kinda funny we both changed from Desert Silver type-S to SWP STi's (well hopefully anyways--good luck with the purchase)

Hahah im not bashing CRSX cause there some good guys on there, but there are also a handful of pricks. My RSX was actually Magnesium Metallic... the closest to DSM. But yeah im stoked to be in white

thats right I just went back and looked through all the different colors of the different years. Forgot they changed so much. I kinda always wished mine had been Arctic Blue Pearl with the black interior but whatever Doesn't matter now cause SWP smokes 'em all

It snows here like 7 or 8 months of the year basically so its gonna be a awesome car to have. I really will miss my type-s though cause its such a great car and looked sexy (coupe). but turbo... 300hp... awd... makes me tingle :P
Nice choice. With the low cost of stage 2 mods, I'd you'll be probably be going from 300cHP to 300wHP sooner than later.

Having owned an 07 for the last year, I have a couple pieces of advice. BTW I am assuming that you are buying used. How many miles?

1. Get a compression test before you finalize the deal. There is a tribal belief that the 07's are subject to premature piston ringland failure due to issues with the factory tune. My sense is that there are fewer issues than the forums would lead you to believe, however I also believe that the issue is unusually prevalent in the 07 STi.

2. Engine management. If you have a laptop and are somewhat computer savvy, take a look at romraider (romraider.com). Even if you don't use it to tune, it has a nice data logger function. All you need to buy is a tactrix cable ($80). The Cobb AccessPort is a very nice product as well, but costs much more. That said, Cobb's products are well done and hold their value if you change your mind. I installed Cobb springs and a Cobb intake on my bro's Mazdaspeed3 this weekend and was impressed with the build quality and fitment. I have heard similar things about parts for WRXs.

3. Drive it like you stole it!

Thanks man, those are some awesome tips I will keep in mind.

The sti is 2007 and only has 20,XXX miles. In canada here thats an amazing deal, cause some 07's with similar kms are selling for 38,000 bucks.
