Default New/Old STI owner!

Just a quick note that I fell off the wagon for the third time now .
I just picked up a virgin '07 STI WRB/Gold BBS (pics to follow) with 2500 miles. This will be my second STI and my third Impreza/WRX in the past 5 years.

Other cars I considered this time around:
'06 EVO IV MR
'04 BMW M5
'03 Jaguar S-TYPE R
'03 Mercedes E55 AMG

Congratulations and welcome back!
I would love a rundown on why you decided NOT to select any of the other cars you listed.

The E55 hauls... it pulls like a freight train. Unfortunately, it also handles like one

'06 EVO IV MR
DROVE IT! - Felt like a really fast AWD Civic for some odd reason. I drove an '03 several times and the new(er) MR w/the MIVEC seemed as though it was trying really hard to go fast. I actually thought the '03 felt stronger for some odd reason. Obviously $/hp you can't go wrong, but as I said before, the STI seems easier to drive faster, better build quality, and the addicting exhaust growl.

'04 BMW M5
DIDN'T DRIVE IT - Just based this decision on: the same trans from the Supra TT and lbs/hp is a bit better than a stock STI.

'03 Jaguar S-TYPE R
DROVE IT! - Probably on one the most visually stimulating luxo car (pics do not do it justice) that is very affordable (not including parts). It is odd having power at any moment, the supercharger is almost always howling. I test drove one in NY like a mad-man (owner told me to), but there wasn't much interaction needed to go fast . . . just floor it and go. I was cruising at 100mph in 6th gear at around 1800RPM!?! Even w/the CATS suspension, the car felt "floaty". Things went south when pricing basic bolt-ons (alternators $595, water pump $325, rotors $200/each, etc...) and a seemingly problematic ZF transmission.

'03 Mercedes E55 AMG
DIDN'T DRIVE IT - This will be my next car, period. Based this decision on YouTube vids, hand-built engine, lbs/hp, somewhat sleeper looks, and some hard-core influence from fellow C320 AMG owners. Only cons are insurance and the inability to drive this machine in the wet/snow.

Here are pics of my old '06.
'07 pics to follow.
