Question New with a quick question

Whats up everyone i just picked up my 05 Sti 2 weeks ago with 33000 on the clock. i Came from a BT VW and woo waht a difference im in love!

My question is when i am driving and i go into 5th or 6th gear it makes a noise its hard to describe this noise. Its like a wine or a buzz noise it only happens in 5th and 6th and i don't know if it is norm or not. It does not effect the car the car runs great.

Just would like to know being that im knew to subies and all.

Thanks alot!

Spoolin

I'm not sure if its after market but there is a short shifter. It might be the one that Subaru offers.

Sounds like the normal tranny whine to me. It's easier to pick out when you're on the freeway at a steady speed, I remember that's when I first heard it. Just to be safe you can always check you're tranny oil level or hell, even change the fluid all together if you haven't gotten you're 30,000 mile service yet.
