Cool Hello, Everyone!

I am getting ready to purchase a used STI, and thought I would start gathering information on the best mods, etc., since I will want big power out of my STI immediately!! I currently own a sponsored 2k4 Infiniti G35 coupe, 6-MT, and am well known on the G and Z forums! I currently live in Knoxvegas, TN, but am originally from Nashville. However, i just moved here fairly recently from Laguna Beach, CA where I lived for several years.

If anyone has suggestions on a good place to buy a slightly used STI, feel free to chime in. I have been looking at a few local cars, which are in very good shape. I would like either silver, black, or white--I also like the bronze BBS wheels or nice aftermarkets!! I have gold Volks on my G35, which I love and get complimented on often.

Otherwise, any info. and opinions on the best exhausts, EMU's, Turbo upgrades, etc., would be very helpful and greatly appreciated! I can't wait to get my STI home! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Angeleyes. What year STI are you looking to buy? About the mods, use the search tab, it will bring you to the right place. There's tons of vendors here that help your needs. Just depends on what you like in particular. Happy searching!

Hello, I would do cobb ap, turbo back exhaust, front mount intercooler, FP green turbo/similar turbo, bigger injectors, upgraded fuel pump and a dyno tune. I would suspect that would get you around 400 whp and a bit more whtq. You could also add meth and get a bit more power because it would allow for a more agressive tune.

I believe that's a pretty safe setup on the stock internals. If you want really big power the 35r is a good turbo choice but you might have to upgrade engine internals.

Thanks for the great info. guys! I would like a 2004-2006 STI! I have been doing some searching on the site, and it seems like Cobb Tuning across the board makes some of the best products for these cars. I am new to the Subaru world, but after I drove one for the first time last week and heard that beautiful exhaust sound, I was hooked! I must add one to my collection!

Good luck with your decision.... Just curious, how much power are you wanting to make?

Can't go wrong with Cobb! That's like the best friend your STI will ever get. Best of luck on the search.

That's somewhat common, although I don't think I'd put an FP turbo on my car. There are a lot of different ways to do a turbo upgrade depending on the goals for the car and its planned usage.

To the OP, take some time to go through some of the member journals and you'll find a lot of builds. Read the stickies in each forum, as they're a quick way to learn a lot of necessary information. Lastly, check the Used STi Buying Guide. It's a sticky thread too, but it has a lot of information you might find useful in your search.

+1 to boony's post - ESPECIALLY the part about avoiding the FP garbage.

Cobb makes the most conveneint products for our cars. The AccessPort is their top product as we can tune our cars using it, and flash back to OEM within minutes if need be. Their exhaust is very nice as well, but the rest of the products you can find comprable for less money (like KartBoy products). Welcome to the world of Subi, best advice is to read as much as you can here and Nasioc before commiting to anything you are not sure about.

I will likely use the STI as my daily driver, since the G35 is going TT this summer. (BIG POWER!!!) This is part of the reason why I am buying another car. I have thought about selling the G, but I just love it too much and have invested a lot into it. I will post pics when I get some good ones on my new Mac...

I would like to see 350-400whp out of the STI. That said, this will be my DD, so reliability is a must. I am sure that won't be an issue though if things are done right from the beginning, which is why I do a lot of research first!

Thanks for everyone's input, it's greatly appreciated!

Thats why I put / similar turbo, I know how a lot of people feel about forced performance.
