Exclamation DCCD Questions

Hey everyone i got a couple questions about the DCCD option on my 05 Sti

1. Would you ruin anything by switching the setting while the car is in movement?

2. Whats the best settings for just normal daily driving?

3. Whats best for Speed in the long run like freeways, country roads, etc?

Thanks for any info!

Search in the drivetrain section. All your answers and more are in there.

Well I have tried to look for very similar answers and have been unable to find a really good explanation of the DCCD. I asked some people from Subaru at the LA Auto Show and they didn't know any more than I did. I am quite certain that the answer to #2 is "Auto". Aside from that I have no credible advice.

My question which may be similar to #3 is if you put more power to the rear wheels would that allow you to accelerate from say 30-60 faster? My thinking is that if you can put the same amount of power to two wheels as opposed to four it would make sense that those two wheels can accelerate the car quicker (provided there is no tire slippage).

KEEP IT IN AUTO WHEN PARKING!
turning the wheel at slow speeds in a locked setting with cause it to bind the center diff and the inside wheel will skip over the ground as it tries to keep up pace with the outer wheel.

auto is fine for Daily driving. lock is good for being stuck in mud or snow
