There was a 1.8l turbo engine. but it wasnt an ej series engine, it was the ea86 engine that was in the loyal turbo and such. It is not a great engine by any means. (headgasket issues) The versions of the ej20 (the 2.0 liter) are great turbo engines, or if you are looking to build an engine from the bottom up the ej2.2t(the turbo 2.2) has a closed deck block and can be built to the nuts.
EDIT: The ej22t is found in the early 90's legacy, and can be found for cheap.
