Default Shoulda Got the STi

Hello everyone My Name's Cameron. I'm new to the Subaru World. I recently purchased an 08 WRX My pockets weren't deep enough to get the STi due to the negative equity on my old Mitsubishi. anyhow I hope to learn alot. I dont think there's much i have to offer but tons to learn. I'm out of Jacksonville Florida...there's a couple names i recognize from other forums. SO hopefully it'll be a smooth transition.

Congrats on the new car. Welcome to the forums. So what are the plans for the rex? Gonna keep it stock and save up for an STi or go all out with a build?

You're at a good base... if you have the time and cash, you can bring your WRX up to an STi part by part, but regardless, don't think that you underbought, the WRX is a beast of a platform. Welcome!

Here it is nothing special yet. I'm still in the planning/ waiting for stuff to come out phase. But by the time parts start coming out I'll be In the Desert. SO Next Christmas will be a good time.

I'm going to build on it. The main thing i feel like i'm missing is about 70hp and the wide body. Which are both fixable. Only having 5 speeds will take getting use to i've almost put it in reverse about 3 times now. Most of the cars i've dealt with in the past were all FWD NA cars. I'm new to the turbo world and the AWD realm as well. But i'd like to keep the same planning as i did with all my cars. Suspension, Get the air out faster, get more air in and faster regulate the air/fuel ie...tune. then somewhere down the line i start working with looks. I did get the premium package with the lip and the diffusers But ultimately I'd like to turn it into a 400whp track car (With Curves) and still be able to pick my daughter up from school. I dont think that's too unreasonable. But I'm learning as i go.

thats not unreasonable at all.... but remember, if you havent already read somewhere, engine management (cobb, ecutek, hydra, pick your poison) is a NECESSITY BEFORE you start modding really.... you can prolly throw on a catback, but an intake, downpipe, inlet tube.... everything needs to be tuned for... accessport is very popular as a quick solution to power and regulating the car
