Default what now?

So, I bought a bone stock 06 wrx like 6 weeks ago I was looking at used sti's but didn't want an 04/05 I like the 06/07 front but couldn't afford an 06/7 sti.... Anyway My economic stimulus check should be here soon and I'm looking to drop it on my subaru that being said I have narrowed it down to two possible options they are :
cobb accessport$695 or
cobb stage 2 suspension package (includes springs sways rear sway mounts rear tower bar)$750
now I really don't know which way to go here according to most threads on the accessport going stage1 on a stock vehicle makes little difference just more linear power smoother driveability.... I dunno the car seems to drive fine to me? I'm leaning towards the suspension only because the front wheel gap is KILLING me but I am looking for other opinions. If I were to get a catback as well as AP would I see marginally better results? I'm not looking to build an all out race car just a nice fun daily driver eventually I would like to see around 300whp so performance upgrades will be done as well I just want to make the right decision for my first mods but I need outside opinions so I can take them into consideration and make my decision. I know cobb tuning is a reputable tuning company but I'm spending a decent amount of money so I want to make sure that for the same money I can't piece together something better... Thanks guys

first off welcome to the comunity.

As for your dilemma. I bought my ’05 with a stage one suspension already on it so I went with the engine mods first but looking back I should have built the suspension up a little more before going with the stage two power mods. So, I would go with the suspension first. The cars change some how they drive with a small amount of tweaking done the handing department. Then in a few months go with the stage one intake and access port. You will be happy until that ever so popular mod bug hits again.

I also vote for building up your suspension first. However, be wary about the cobb springs. While I do not have any personal experience with them, I've heard that they lower the car way too much, and consequently screw up the suspension geometry. Not to mention you'll be riding on your bumpstops with no travel...

RCE yellows are a good choice for a road going car. They lower it ~22mm in the front (afaik) and something like ~15mm in the rear. Then you could go with some sways (Whiteline is a popular brand that is proven to have good results). Regarding the rear strut tower bar, save up for an X-Brace. That is PROVEN to work...while the gains on the normal bar is minimal, and more for the "bling" factor.

If COBB springs put the car on bumpstops, the RCE Yellows come damn close as well.

I am still currently under warranty and I don't want to void that how much do RCE's cost and how harsh do they ride? I also looked at buddy club or megan racing coilovers but I'm not too sure that they fit my bill as I think they are overkill for my purposes... so the swaybars are no good either?

Ride harshness is a subjective matter. What is harsh to some is perfectly tolerable to others. Are there any members in your area with aftermarket springs?

Once you eliminate the springs that drop the car too low and destroy the suspension geometry, the rest are a question of preference. RCE Blacks are going to keep the car up a bit higher, even it out some, and maintain the suspension geometry (with the same spring rates as the yellows). JDM Pinks will even the car out and drop it without screwing up the geometry. You also might inquire about something called T3h Breakfast Blend, which I learned about through T3h_Clap.

Again, ride harshness is subjective. Get a ride with someone with the springs you're looking at if possible, and do a LOT of reading. Aftermarket springs are oft discussed here. Be patient, and do your due diligence before you run out and buy. You can never do too much research.

I am leaning towards the RCE yellows and N1 top hats and RCE lowering camber plates when i get back for over seas since i have been reading different stuff about my car not being so reliable. (anybody know if that would be too low for DD i could not find pics of that combo)

The problem with RCE Yellows + lowering plates is that it will likely limit the width of tires you can run unless you do some work. I don't even know if RCE recommends that, but I could be mistaken. Why not drop'em a PM? RaceComp Engineering. Myles and the guys there are very helpful.
