Default newbie with a subie!! performance mods

hello all!! i'm new to the formum and have an 07 sti that i purchased last summer, i now have 10,000 miles on it and want to start making it go faster!!! i use to have an vw jetta 1.8t with apr turbo and revo ecu program. added about 120hp over all with exhaust,DP, bigger injectors!
want to get the new subie to around 400-450hp at the crank.
any one have info on going in stages, to expensive to do all at once, also heard there is over boosting issues for the 07 model, wish i would have gotten an 06 instead, but to late now.

any help from you gents on the forum would greatly be appreciated.
current mods are, new cross drilled rotors and pads from Rotora, and steel braided lines, also just bought rs-r coil overs but have not installed them yet, no instructions on setup or install, and no addvice on setup for adjusted ride height, i want to lower the car about 2 inches.
thanks guys, hope to here from you soon!!

i was unsure how much the engine can handle, i dont wont to have to rebuild the motor to have the extra power, also its my daily driver so i still want it streetable, and still take it to the track and lapping days. can you do the build in stages. a ECU upgrade and so on, also i have a manual boost controler... can i use it to get a few more Lbs of boost over the stock???

Use the search button it will be your friend. Our cars can handle boost pretty well through the ecu so a tune from a knowledgable tuner will put the values you need to help you not blow up the car.

Sorry daren1.8t for stealing your original post, and I apologize if someone is offended by lifting this kind of a thread up, this was the closest thread that I could find for my purpose.

Before my questions I need to thank KiTsuNe from IWSTI for helping me out in msn, without him I wouldn't be this far now

I own a 2006 STI, my goal is to get the car to 420-450hp with pump gas, I was planning to change the turboback, intercooler, fuel pump/fuel rails, intake, turbo etc etc.
But for now my modlist would be changing the Exhaust+Downpipe, fuel pump and cold air intake.

Catback Exhaust
I would like a deep boxer rumble, and loud exhaust for high rpms, and nice idle sound.
I've been watching these exhausts in Youtube, because I don't have the possibility to listen to them in person.
What would you suggest ?

1. HKS Hi-Power HKS USA Hi-Power Exhaust
2. Invidia N1 (Racing or Normal)Invidia USA.
3. Invidia G200 Invidia USA.
4. Perrin Single Tip Sport Perrin Performance - Cat-Back Exhaust Single Tip (Sport)

Downpipe

For my Downpipe I was thinking of Catted Bellmouth.

1. Invidia V2 Invidia Catted Downpipe Subaru 02-06 WRX/Sti V4 - HS05SW1DPC by: Invidia - iSTOREPARTS.COM
2. Cobb Street or Race Catted CobbTuning.com - SS 3" Downpipe
3. Perrin Import Image Racing Webstore - SUBARU - WRX/STi 2002-2007 - Exhaust - Downpipes - Perrin Performance Catted Downpipe for 02+wrx and 04+ sti

Cold Air Intake

1. APS 70mm APS 65mm & 70mm Cold Air Intake CAI for 02-07 WRX & STi, JSC Speed 02-07 WRX & STi Intakes

Turbo Inlet
1. APS Turbo Inlet Pipe Import Image Racing Webstore - SUBARU - WRX/STi 2002-2007 - Intake/Induction - Turbo Inlet hoses/pipes - APS Turbo Inlet Pipe for WRX & STi

Fuel Pump

Walbro, or what ?

Crank Pulley

1. Perrin Perrin Lightweight Crank Pulley for 02-07 Subaru WRX & STi, from JSC Speed
2. COBB Cobb Lightweight Crank Pulley for 02-07 Subaru WRX & STi, from JSC Speed

Heat Shield

1. COBB CobbTuning.com - SS Heat Shield

So this would be my modlist for now, what do you guys think, do I have everything needed, should I change something, as I said my goal is to get 420-450hp, with quick turbo spool.
My future Turbo is going to be one of these
18G, 20G, FP green, FP red, HTA Green, GT52, SZ49, SZ55, IHI turbos.

After installation I will get a engine management also.

no problem! i dont mind at all, i am as well interested in doing the same thing to my 07 STi. i have found out though after many hours on forums that if you do any modds to the car you need some type of tuning software!!!! wether you use a tactrix cable and download a file from ECU tune, or buy the cobb unit. the cars dont just run right!! if you do a cold air intake you may run into problems with metering the air and end up running lean. 07 model is worse than the 06, but the older gen 04-05 dont have these problems.
also cobb even recomends using the downpipe with a high flow cat. looking forword to find out more!!!

400 crank hp should be attainable with a free-flowing tbe, intake, header, intercooler and ewg setup. Combine that with the 94 octane, a tune, and depending on the dyno, that should hit 400 crank. If you aren't quite there, you could always get higher octane gas...
