Default Check out my STi

I'm a newbie, I joined a few months ago and have been lurking around for a while. Now it's official, I'm an STi owner.

So yesterday I was heading home from school and went by a local dealer and they had a Crystal Grey Metalic '05 STi sitting on the lot. I figured I'd have some fun and test drive the thing. You know, I had to reinforce the decision of getting an STi. The original plan was to wait about a month to get one, but... So I start talking to the salesman about the car, and he says I had to do a credit ap to take a test drive, I guess they try to eliminate people just going for joy rides (like I wanted to do). Well apperantly I qualified, so they throw me the keys and off we went.

Long story short, I ended up driving off with an '05 CGM STi. I have to admit, I had never driven or been in a WRX or STi before yesterday. I was shocked, these things have some balls when they get into boost.

I'd be willing to bet it would take my Mach without much of an issue. They're a totally different animal.

Enough talk, here's pics

Congrats on the purchase. It's funny how you only intended on test driving the car, and BAM!.......sign here please

Did you ever consider an 08, or did you have your mind set on a 04-07 model?

Yeah, and I'm the worse when it comes to buying cars. I get too excited to do any dealing, I just say where do I sign. Oh well, I'm pleased with my purchase. I think it'll be a great car.

I really didn't consider an 08. I didn't want to pay the price for a brand new one, plus I really prefer the 05 looks. I think the 05 grille is the best looking.

Welcome! Very nice, and glad to see the toolbox out already, even if it's just for front plates!

I did the exact same thing when I bought my 05 STi, I went down with the intention of looking at an 04 Evo 8 they sitting on the lot, instead they showed me the STi and it was love at first sight. I just couldn't get the smile off my face during that test drive and as soon as we got back to the showroom I was ready to sign some papers.

The car is basically stock, except for the interior. The STi interior was swapped out for the solid black WRX interior, which I actually prefer. Other than that though, there is nothing aftermarket.

I'd like to lower it, do wheels and tires, a boost gauge and probably a cat back but not much more for now. I'm sure the plans will go out the window, but that's where I'm at now.

Yeah, you gotta love bustin out the wrenches as soon as you get home with a new toy. As you may or may not be able to see from my Cobra in the background, I like to turn some wrenches on my cars.

The cobra is nice, but watch out - aftermarket on the turbo boxer engine is a whole different beast. Wheel and tires are a good choice, lowering it is again up to you, but I would be cautious about doing the cat back. You would be more wise to spend that money on an Accessport and downpipe before the cat back. Just my .02 - of course its your ride and a catback never hurts

Congrats, best year and best color! Get a Cobb Ap and a downpipe, the difference in power is amazing.

I was in the same boat as you. I have never driven a wrx/sti 'til i bought mine. I was at an auto x and someone w/a sti gave me a ride and loved it. So i started looking and found the one i wanted, '07 satin white pearl w/goldies 500 miles away. I spoke to the person everyday for 5 days before driving to see her. I test drove and wasn't that impressed do to the '07 crappy factory tune. I went ahead and bought it knowing i would be able to correct the tune w/an AP and now the car is a beast. I really like this car and know you will too. CONGRATS!!
