Default New to this thing

Hey guys, im new to this place and am in the process of getting an STI. selling my spec v for a slightly used sti with low miles.
It will be a daily driver for wife and new kid. (i have a work truck that i gotta drive). The current 06 tacoma we have is lifted with bigger tires and the fuel miles are getting to the pocket book.
I will need ammo to convince the wife that she will like driving it every day and it will ride smooth and is safe, She wants a G35, but i am tring to bring her to this car cause it is my present for graduating college.

great crash ratings, the safety of AWD, ok gas mileage if you stay out of boost, holds its value, nice size trunk. There are tons of other stuff that I love it for, but maybe your wife won't agree.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the purchase...and the wife!

STI--4 cylinder
G35--6 cylinder

with the gas prices nowadays, she will be convinced for sure.

it handles better than a g35, rides very nicely(forget to tell her about the bobble head feature do to stock seats, springs have a lot of movement), amazing crash test ratings. better gas mileage than the truck

The 08 STi has three engine map modes with siDrive. Keep it in "Boring" and the gas mileage will be decent.

Safer. More utility. AWD. FTW. As long as she can drive stick, I don't see a problem.

Thanks for the help guys. hey another question if you have time. I saw a deal for an 07 sti with only 1,700 miles for only 22000, but here is the catch, it has a rebuilt title. This is a dealership and they specialize in rebuilt title cars. The guy said that the damage was at the side doors were hit, but they only resell if has not frame or drivetrain damage. And they will offer a warranty too. What do you guys think?

I'd be hesitant. Unless they had pictures of the car before it was hit, and prior to repair, and you are capable of giving it a thorough inspection yourself to ensure the frame is straight and the body panels line up correctly, you could be in for a headache.

That said, there are certainly places capable of rebuilding a car competently. Me personally? No thanks.
