IMO buying a highly modded car is always risky. I dont see anything wrong with it, but you have no guarantees that the car was built properly or tuned correctly. It is your call though. Is he running anything for engine management? Maybe I didnt catch that.

Walk away if there was no EM on it. Unless you know the people building it, shortcuts may have been taken. I'd say not worth it unless it's REALLY cheap and you have the time and extra funds to repair any problems. Could be a nightmare in the works.

Just my $.02.

Too many modifications for my taste. I would not do it.

Though it seems you had your mind made up to begin with.

I'd be very wary of this car, particularly due to lack of proper time in tuning and getting EM. Who knows what has happened since the build without proper tuning.

If you want to upgrade turbos anyway (like the gt30), why not find a stock wrx or close to stock wrx and then start your own build? It may take more time and effort than just doing a turbo swap on this car, but it will give you a huge piece of mind knowing that you built it correctly.

Subaru's are EXTREMELY reliable IF tuned for the parts on them. No tune = no buy.

Hmmm, too many mods for buying it....you can always get a compression test done and have it checked out by a mechanic....

Anyone who invested this kind of cash into the motor, susp., etc. and did not have the car professionally tuned is out of his mind. I would question any of the internal mods the owner is claiming to have made. Actually, I don't think u can mod a car to this extent and not have some type of EM. I'd have nothing to do w this car.

Well, consider this as well. Part of the fun of owning a Subaru is personalizing / modifying it to your tastes. It looks like this owner has done a substantial amount of modification. If you buy this car you are missing out on all of the DIY learning and fun!

Buying heavily modded cars....when you just don't want to do things yourself, the proper way.
