I think the bug people copied us. I love the feeling when I see another wrx/sti and wave at them. I love it even more when a woman is driving it.

I am a new STI owner, and I love how every Subie owner waves/acknowledges other fellow drivers in a friendly matter.
I've had a ton of people already chase me down in various Subaru's just to say hi...and I do the same. It's awesome...

exactly all everyone else wants to do is race..guess they have something to prove

Thats funny, cause the first 3 weeks i owned my car and saw people with other STI's and wrx's waived to me and I thought what the hell?? That just doesnt happen over here in so cal. At first thought he was waivin me down for either directions or lookin to carjack. But when I started to notice it was only subaru owners I thought to myself wow thats awesome, never have I seen such a cool community of owners. I have owned hondas, toyotas, and chevys and none other than the classic car community would say hello. It still trips me out.

Actually, I think the waving thing was started by bikers who do it all the time. I also ride a bike and always wave to other bikes. When I had my S2000, I also waved to other S2K's as well. Now that I have the STI, the waving continues. Just a friendly way to acknowledge being in the brotherhood.

it is very common up here in south dakota as well. I think we do it just to make the honda guys jealous though...
