sti vs wrx. i need help deciding what to get

how much of a difference is there bet a sti and a wrx. my friend is telling me to get a wrx cuz its real cheap and i could mod it up with the money i save from getting a wrx. and another thing, how cheap is it to mod a sti.

A very, very big difference. The STi is worth the extra money as it would take more than the 10,000 price difference to turn the WRX into an STi. And modding an STi is a pretty big deal. I am by no means anything close to an expert and because of my lack of knowledge I have chosen to keep my STi stock until I finish a series of automotive classes and I feel that I can service my car myself. Just something to consider

Trust me get the STi. I went with a WrX and am considering trading my car in for an Sti. If you have the funds go with the STi. Youll never look back.. just test drive both and youll realize in about 3 seconds why the STi is the car to go with...

if you get a wrx you will likely spend all the money you "saved" modding the wrx to try to get it to be faster then, or as fast as an STi.

the mods cost about the same for each car.

Your friend doesn't know what he is taking about. To mod a wrx upto an sti would cost mad money. Like stated above the way better tranny is enough. Dont be one of the Nasioc guys that buy a wrx and think you can make a sti for cheap then get pissed when you find out you cannt

i had the same decision it was either a brand new 07 wrx or an 05 used sti with 29k mi. glad i made the right decision never looked back either

thanx guys. me and my brother are planning to get a car together soon and i cant decide what to get. i read everywhere that evos are faster than sti's but i kinda want an sti. i use to hate sti's and love evo's, but for some reason i LOVE sti's now. i guess ima get whatever i find cheaper at the time.

if you buy an evo, buy a clutch with it.

my friends had to rebuild their tranny after not even a year. too much to handle. they beat a lot of cars with only a handful of mods. fast car.

Man I would buy a STI. You only live one time so go with something a little more money. STI's are very nice cars. They are a little more money but hell they are really good cars. But it is your car so go with what you want

Think about it this way. An STi, stock, is fast and reliable. To make the WRX fast as the STi, you'd have to mod it up. And then you lose the reliability.

As has been said before, the STi is a very different car from the WRX. Wheels, hubs, drivetrain and tranny, some of the powertrain... go with what you really want. Fewer headaches, less regret.

im not going with the rex. hows the sti compared to the evo. i think my brother wants a evo. plus my dad doesnt subies, but i think his mind wll change after a testdrive
