Hey guys, sorry if this warrants the response of "search" (i did). But, I'm not 100% sure what to search for.

I've had 2 WRX's and one GC RS.. but never an STi. I'm currently shopping for 05' STi's mostly but, of course there are some nice 04's on the market as well..

I remember vaguely some issues regarding the rear suspension on the 04's - could someone help me w/the appropriate questions to ask a seller regarding recalls/warranty repairs on a used 04? Or possibly link me to a thread regarding recalls, etc w/the 04's. Also, if there is anything other than the rear suspension issue.

Much of the information you need is in the Used STi Buying Guide (link in my sig). The rest can be found in the Threads of Interest Sticky in the Newbie or General Forum, where there are very detailed threads about the differences between the 04 and 05 cars.

I just gathered a lot of existing info, and the cause was not born of nobility. I was tired of the: "what should I look for when I buy a used STi" threads.

Yeah, I was already leaning that way.. after reading that post/thread. It kind-of fortified my decision.

. That's the great thing about it. My friend's father had an '04, and my friend couldn't decide on an '04, or '05, etc. He asked me questions, differences about the 2 years. Most of us know about the hub upgrade, strut clunk, yada yada, and I told him of a few others I knew. He'd end up asking me at odd times (insert some type of smiley face here, not sure which one), so it was a lot easier to show him that thread. Hats off Boony.
