Default Driving Noise

I get like a rumbling noise when I'm cruising at constant speed around 80 or 85. I pretty much read all the wind noise threads and thats at 120 and I'm not even near that. I can't figure out what it could be coming from but it sounds like it is coming from the back of the car somewhere.

If you are running the RE070's, it could be tire noise. They get louder as they wear, and the faster you go.

Bad Bearing?...my back bearing was out and it sounded like the caliper was rubbing the brake pad at every rotation...but it was just the bearing...

Rather than a bad wheel bearing, I suspect the rumble is from your snow tires.

I get the same thing with the snow tires on my A4.

I think it has to do with the "open" tread pattern and the ripple pattern that is typical of snow tires.

yea from where im from theres not a drop of snow all year....at all.........so i wouldnt know..but as far as the bearing..(if thats the problem)..then its probably defective cause im at like 84,xxx and the only reason mine went out is cause i had a slight run in with a 2 ft curb....haha

Yea snow tires make a lot of noise at high speeds. If you still have your stock wheels and tires throw them on and hit those speeds again. Then you can rule out the tires and focus on the bearings, axles, etc.
