now we know why subaru redesigned the hood scoop...you can totally see it kind of just "cuts" the air diverting part over the car, part into the engine bay with no disturbance..
freakin sweet.

I have to suspect that the 04/05 style scoop would have more turbulence right behind it...

As I posted in the other EVO vs. STi Aero thread regarding the V-Limited front lip, what exactly does a 36% improvement in coefficient of drag really equate to, performance wise?

Well, first of all, I am not sure that the lip really yields a 36% improvement in drag, but it definitely does improve it. Basically, what the reduction in drag would do is slightly improve your high-speed acceleration, but moreover, would improve fuel economy slightly.

So it does nothing to combat the front end lift characteristics?

I can't find a clean cite at the moment but the original V-Limited lip did not reduce drag by 36%, it reduced front end lift by 36%. The number came from SoJ or STi literature.

Great collection of information Nick, as usual! Thanks for putting it all in one place.
