Default JDM Taillights

ok I tried searching and failed. What exactly is different between JDM and USDM tail lights. I have looked at pictures and see no difference. So if some one could enlighten me I would be very grateful.

Its just the placement of the bulbs that is different. The USDM tailight can be modified to look like JDM tailight, pretty easy.

How do you do the JDM tail light mod? Is it easy or hard?

Pretty neat, I'll have to look into it. I much prefer the WRC style to the JDM circles though. The JDM's are somewhat altezza looking.

ok i did it tonight, took less than 5 minutes, as my trunk liner was already loose lol.

it is very easy without any cutting + extending wires, or swapping harnesses or removing taillights.

move the plugs like this:

say when you start out, looking at the drivers taillight from the rear of the car, that the outside light is #1, the middle #2, and the round lens inner one is #3.

swap them so now left to right they are #'s 3, 1, 2

and remove the bulb from socket 1.

everything will fit, and without stretching things!

great mod, should be a sticky!!

1. Its easier to do if the taillights are out (undo 4 bolts).
2. Unplug main harness, remove tailight out of the car
3. Locate the bottom row lights (3 bulbs).
4. Mark (with tape or sharpie)the outermost bulb, towards the corner of the car as #1, middle #2, innermost #3.
5. Remove bulb/socket by turning counterclockwise (you'll hear a pop).
6. Now place #1 bulb ---> #2 slot, #2 bulb --->#3 slot, #3 bulb--->#1 slot
7. It's going to be tight but it'll reach, so loosen the wires as much as you can.
8. Plug the harness back and check, press on the brake, turn on lights. Satisfied...? Put taillight back in the car, tighten bolts and enjoy.

I wish I took pics but I don't feel like taking the lights out again, sorry.
**Note, this is for the '04-'05, '06 might be different.
