ok i called them and they told me they left me a voice mail, i didnt get a voice mail apparently they had the wrong number. anyways, they told me it was ready i was like what did you do to it, and the guy kind of hesitated when he told me he didn't know and i told him i wanted to know cause i was curious, and he told me to hold and then he told me that they re did the computer or some crap. i don't really believe him but ill drive it tomorrow and see if it still is messed up and then take it back to them. they said they drove it and it was fine. i remember the amount of miles that was on it before i left so i will see if they really drove it around and then im going to tell them i had all the symptoms of a blown engine. hiccups, smoke from the oil cap, loss of oil, not hitting full boost, smoke out of exhaust. i cant think of any more. o yea and i listened to another sti engine and it was quieter than mine, mine sorta ticked very quietly but i could hear it. so i will see tomorrow whats up and i will let y'all know. should i tell them to do a compression test themselves? or tell them about the symptoms of a blown engine.

There's no way a reflash fixed that. Sorry to say, but smoke out the oil cap = blown motor. Not maybe, it's toast
I wouldn't worry about the ticking though because a lot of subaru's tick. Not all do which is weird, but I'd say most have a lot of valvetrain noise

ok i got my car back and it hits full boost at .5 bar whatever that is and no smoke came from the tailpipe and the oil cap. so far it seems to be ok, but maybe i was hallucinating because i guess the oil was low and thats why white smoke came out the oil cap, not much but a slow continuous flow and when i added oil i must have overfilled a tad bit and when i shut the car off and turned it back on white smoke came out, and the car is under warranty, and i have not had a CEL in 100 miles about a misfire so i think it might be ok, and i think it might be the clutch cause i will hit boost and the car will basically sit there and kinda hiccup a little. but it will accelerate so i guess its probably the clutch and not a piston ring. the dealership guy gave me some injector cleaner and i put it in there. should i flash stage one and see if it hits full boost? is there a way to see if my clutch is slipping, i only have 15,xxx i have launched and stuff, but it is my first manual car so idk if it is slipping or not.

I meant to say wait till 300 miles to see if your CEL comes back, until then I woulld still be careful

toast clutch usually slips, put it in 4th around 2500rpm and floor it, if RPM jumps up and catches then your clutch is dying

You need to build a boost leak tester and pressurize the system. I think there's a how to on here but I'm too lazy to search

sorry for the random posts about whats wrong with my car, but can more people get in on this, i need some help and lots of opinions. ok my CEL came back on and once again it says Cyl 4 misfire detected. i put 93 octane in my car, which is the highest grade here, it will only hit about 7 lbs of boost, i made the boost leak tester, but if havent checked for a leak. can a boot leak throw a misfire? i need an answer ASAP so i can know whether to do the test or take my car to the dealer which is an hour away. and i have work and school on top of that, so i need to know whether it might just be a boost leak causing this or the engine.

I say, go back to the dealership. I'd also tell them what I know, like the symptoms and stuff. At least don't let them think that you're an imbecile. I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but because of things like these I'm keeping my car 100% stock for a while. I haven't yet heard about blown motor of a fully stock car (that includes AP too). Scary situations for 07 owners.
