Default Process West VMIC Discontinued?

For the past few months ive been putting aside some money to buy the Process West VMIC. So today i went to Rallysportdirect.com to buy it and i realized that they arent selling it on their site anymore. I gave them a call and RSD said that Process West have discontinued their VMIC. I checked PW's web site and its not on there either.

Anyone know why they stopped making them? Their VMIC was considerably less $$$ than other VMIC set ups and the quality seemed top notch. I cant figure out why they would stop production of such a sweet set up. Any Ideas?

i think even though it was cheaper than many other vmic out there. there wasn't really much of a market for them, so i believe thats why they discontinued

I have the PE Vmount on my car I believe I paid $3500.00 taxed and shipped for it through a local shop where I live. That's a lot less than retail but yes it's still more thant he PW but it's a very nice kit. PE used to offer 4 kits when I ordered mine though. There was a WRX kit then 1 for the STI then a kit with oil cooler and another kit with tranmission cooler and oil cooler. I bought just the radiator and IC kit which I think retailed for $4250.00 at the time perhaps that kit is still available if youc all PE.

One thing though... Be ready to wait a LOOONG time to get the parts in... PE seems to be very disorganized. It took almost 90 days from the day I ordered until it actually showed up.

Cause both test cars use to over heat with them on

One was a standard 06 STI with just an exhaust and tune, the other had a built 2.5L with SR55 turbo running 22psi and use to over heat on the dyno (coolant temps). On the street it was fine, but not when tuning.

Intake temps werent very good either, about half way in between a normal FMIC and a top mount when logged, this being on a dyno as well.

This kit was never sold in Australia and never went further than the 2 test cars. Quality was awesome, up to the usual Process West quality

Aren't there reports that PE Vmount also causes over heating ??

Yea mastrowrx.com doesn't have them on their site anymore either. But it looks like they're making a new top mount.

Take a look:

Process West top mount intercooler & splitter
Interesting.. it even comes with the splitter! I wonder how much efficient it is compared to FMIC? By a small or big gap?

$1100 is a tad steep for a tmic. That's Perrin fmic pricing and just $200 off the APS fmic's.
