The blouch upgrade on ther VF39 will add about 30hp to a stage 2. Right in between a stage 2 and 20G. I have the turbo but decided against installing it as a stage 2 is enough for me. Its brand new and the donor VF39 had about 1000 miles on it. Will sell it if interested PM for pricing.

now im assuming you come with a number like 30 horsepower because Blouch told you this right? Did you ask them how this Turbo does against creeping? Any other info would help. thanks

It uses the stock waste gate port, I have a catted exhaust so I'm not worried about creep. The HP number is derived from the flow and them they correlate and I have no reason to doubt it works. Aside from the peak gain I would expect HUGE increase in power below the curve, with the right tuner you could really move some air in the mid range.

Maybe I should install and tune can't make up my mind and it would barely push me into needing injectors and I really wanted to get by with the stockers.

yes please keep us posted on this. I would be really interested to see if the stock fuel system can work with this... although I'm sure you could "make" it work, I would like to see load vs fuel and timing tables. ahh man I wish we had a little more info. Anywho one of my buddies who is an evo driver has dealt with blouch and says that they were really cool.

I'd be willing to bet that a water/meth injection kit would alleviate the need for larger injectors...and add a really nice ability to get a quick spool...
8-10gpm nozzle and full meth would probably do it!!!
Be good,
TomK

i've dealt with mike blouch. although i'd love to see a chart, he wouldn't sell the upgrade unless it does what he says it does.

Anyone have more info on this? I just came across this upgrade and I'm strongly considering it. Bigger injectors needed?

Bigger injectors are definitely needed. The stock injectors aren't even truly big enough for a stout Stage 2 setup.

So Wolfplayer, do you think I should consider injectors b4 my protune?

I am currently running a simple Invidia Catless TBE Stage 2 setup with the following to be installed before my protune.

Perrin EL Header & Uppipe (Coated)
Perrin EBCS & Radiator Shroud
Injen CAI
NGK one step colder plugs
Walbro FP
Defi's n Pod

I have also been considering and researching a meth kit...any advice?

Thanks

Brad

I've read that the stock injectors run around 110% duty cycle on a stage 2 STi. I'm not sure how true it is but I would say you would need bigger injectors to use this compressor upgrade.

Please keep on topic. No you won't HAVE to have injectors, but they'd give you more headroom. If you go meth you won't need injectors.

That's not necessarily the case all the time. But I would agree if you're going to go anything bigger than stage 2 by means of pump gas you need larger injectors.

Is anyone running this turbo upgrade? That's really what I want to know. How are the results? The injectors are not a major concern.
