Question synthetic oil ???

Hey all,

I am a big proponet of using synthetic oils...what are some recommended brands to use in an STi. I have used Mobil 1 in the past with good results.

Joe

apart from that ^^^

try the one you like, then see if your car likes it.
if not, try another one until you find one that works for you.

you'll see different people saying that different oils work or do not work for their car.

i'll be trying out my third different synthetic within a few weeks.

burning oil using both mobil1 and motul 8100
trying german castrol soon.

when someone asks a question like this without searching, the rest of us should stop enabling. just don't answer and they'll get the message.

I think some of you guys are being a little too harsh. Either don't respond, or provide useful information.

I use German Castrol Syntec 0w-30. Months ago I read the information provided in the link you see in this thread and came to the conclusion that I wanted to use a 0w oil, and that 30w was likely an ideal weight for when the engine is warm.

German Castrol 0w-30 FTW

I switched from Mobil 1 as the car was burning it a little bit too much!
