Default Twin scroll GT35R.

I was wondering if a gentleman like myself who has a Perrin GT35R kit and wanted to convert it to a twin scroll set up what would he have to do?

Let me know,
Monarch

pritty much throw away the whole perrin kit and start over. you need a twinscroll header that divideds the pulses of the motor( frunt two cylinders together and then the back two together) as well as a up pipe that keeps them seperated up to the turbo. then you need to get the atp divided exhoust housing for thr 35r witch comes with a v-band flange so you then would have to put a cutome v-band flange on to the down pipe to mate up with the turbo. im makeing my kit but i think the aps header is set up for a twinscroll setup so then all you would need is to fab a up pipe ans down pipe and get the exhoust housing.

Yep, there will be a meet at the King of Prussia Mall where everyone will get to see it. I saw the car already in AMR's shop, and it's more of a sleeper than you would ever imagine. Ridiculous attention to detail.

First off.....youd have to buy a twinscroll hotside for your Gt35r from atp turbo....then youd either have to wheeL & deal APS or Automaster for their turbo/header/up pipe combo for it to work....or have a reputable shop fab some twinscroll headers & up pipe for you for this deal.....or bend over like most will and buy a whole new turbo kit for over 5k....the latter is not worth it...find someone that can weld & knows what they;re doin.....ull be better off...and save over 2k in cash or more in the process...if you really want that twin scroll deal....

Is the benifit from this worth all of the hype/money/work? Can someone explain what exactly a twin-scroll set up will do besides cut down spool time? Also, can someone explain how twin scroll does this?

Thanks,
Monarch

umm i was wondering if you have to use equal length headers for the twin scroll set ups. like the twin scroll idea but the #1 reason i bought the sti instead of the evo mr was cuz of the boxer rumble.

Someone correct me if im wrong but IIRC, A twin scroll turbo spools faster because the EL headers evenly space the exhaust pulses. There may be more to it than that...

Yes, EL headers are required for a twinscroll to offer any gains.

I hate be the one to tell you this, but the boxer gets its rumble due to a poorly designed exhaust system. Unequal lenth manifolds are the reason the boxer rumbles and you could make any 4 cylinder sound similar by build an unequal length header. Unfortunately that will probably translate into less power.

There isn't enough proof as of yet to say either or. As of now it's merely a myth. Setup's are dependent.
