Im really happy with mine. I asked john at harman motive yesterday if he saw any noticeable difference between my $300 fmic and the name brand ones and he said that he didnt notice any difference.

Im still debating but I might. Theres a shop in my area that does a thermal coating that pulls heat away and spreads it out. He quoted me $150 and its a semi gloss black coating. I also had my intercooler pipes powdercoated wrinkle red and bought all black silicone couplers. Ill post pics if I have the intercooler coated.

Yes, piping welds are starting to rust. They must not have used a low carbon grade of stainless (not surprising given the price)...

The core is aluminum, that shouldn't rust.

Just so everyone knows, according to SSAC the FMIC kits are backordered for ~60 days. I tried to order one today.
