Anyone have the link to the nasioc thread with the guy who got a CAI to work with his FMIC? I can't seem to find it anymore.

I live in No. VA and it took about 3 days to process and ship to my door. If you order on a weekend it may take a few days more.

you can go to home depot and get some black plastic mesh and rig that on there. or you can paint the core with several light coats of radiator paint.

I wasn't planning on getting a FMIC until I got a bigger turbo, but with this price.......
I am going stage2 with protune in a couple months. Would this add power and be beneficial to a stage2 setup with protune?

Thanks

im stage 2 OTS map with header, upipe, intake, and FMIC.

yes it will add power.
right now with the OTS map it has a bit more lag, but ones the turbo is spooled up, its pulls extra hard to redline. harder then the TMIC, and thats with the pressure drop to about 17.5psi when it was around 20 with the tmic on. atleast thats what my butt dyno is telling me.

im sure you would be very satisfied with the kit, and deffinetly satisfied after a protune with it.

Yes, I have an opinion. I had the stock TMIC. I converted to an APS DR525. I tune my own car (and damn well I would say). A FMIC on a stock Turbo as compared to an upgraded TMIC will make you slower. If you really want your car to be faster on the stock VF39 then upgrade the TMIC to another TMIC. An upgraded TMIC on the stock VF39 will make you faster than a FMIC on the stock VF39.

Please realize that you are increasing the post-turbo volume by 5-6 times. That is a huge amount of volume to pressurize. There is no doubt that you can create a tune where the FMIC will seem to spool the same as the TMIC from a low RPM pull. Heck, my VF39 FMIC setup will full spool to 22psi by 3000rpms. However, this is very deceiving. Once you bang through the gears to redline at WOT, you will realize that the FMIC definitely added extra lag. The only solution is to improve your shifting by beating the hell out of the tranny (WOT shifting).

Compared to the stock TMIC the FMIC does flow better on the topend. However, an upgraded TMIC will do the same thing on the stock VF39 without increasing the post-turbo volume by such a huge amount. You won't get all of that extra lag. You cannot "tune out" the between-shift lag.

Wolf hit it out of the park!!

Everyone that I have asked on here, nasioc, and fellow mechanics at work, tell me that our stock turbo, ported or not, works best with a TMIC.

I'm looking at the Spearco TMIC unless someone in here has bought the Ebay $130 TMIC that is floating on there. It looks like it fits, and it is way bigger than stock, but again, ebay TMIC.
