Default Is the Cobb TBE all that and a bag of chips?

Is it really that much better than say a Helix catted downpipe and a Mad Dad whisper borla catback?

How loud is the Cobb catted TBE in comparison to the whisper or hush exhaust?

Trying to decide between a used Cobb catted TBE and a new Helix catted downpipe/borla whisper/hush cat back...

You have to hear them both so you can compare, anyone local to you with a Cobb?

Largely it comes down to what sound you prefer. I am not aware of any real power to be gained from swithcing from company to company.

If the used Cobb is in good condition, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I don't think I've seen one person who owns the Cobb TBE complain about sound, quality or fitment.

This thread should totally be in the "threads of interest" or stickies. It compares the Cobb catted DP to the Helix head to head.

The downpipe is the most important part of the TBE whichever way you go.

For the record, I'm thrilled with my Cobb Catted DP.

The Cobb TBE fits, sounds and looks great, not too loud, just enough to get
some attention. You won't be disappointed!

What's the latest version of the Cobb TBE? They've come out with a Gen2 DP, right? Is there a Gen3 one?

If you can get a used cobb in good condition then I say go for that. I bought a new cobb dp and a used cobb catback and I love it. It's loud enough that people will know it's your car coming down the street, but not too loud that it drones on the highway.

does the cobb setup still have the 2 1/2" bottleneck in the exhaust?

My two friends are running those set-ups. One full catted cobb TBE and one Helix catted with borla hush. At wot the cobb is a little louder. But while just cruising around, the cobb is much much louder than the hush. The hush is almost stock like from inside under part throttle conditions but open it up and it gets pretty darn loud. The cobb is definetly louder from inside the cabin under normal driving conditions but it is not too loud imo....

Yes it does neck down at the downpipe/midpipe connection.

That said, I am very happy with my cobb tbe and stage 2, for mild mods (stage 2 tune), it doesn't hold you back.

If that used one is in good condition, grab it, NOW. I looked and waited for a used one to save a few bucks, but ended up buying a new one, and you can't get a deal on them, everybody sells cobb for MSRP.

I am freakin' very happy with my catted Cobb turbo back. The downpipe is a great design... it all fit perfectly and the sound I get compliments all the time... I have even had strangers wave me to them at a light (like I had a low tire) just to say wow, your car sounds awesome. Fact is, even in cool weather I open the rear windows just so I can hear that music from the very non-ricey looking conservative tip poking out under the bumper.

... and hey, check out my dyno numners in my sig... I don't think that small neck down affects much of anything considering I wanted a beasty street car not a crazy track racer.

I highly recommend Cobb.

"boost activated intercooler spray mod"- are there any write ups on this?
Curious.

Thanks,
