Default Stage 2 question

Alright guys im fairly new still to the STI world ive been researching them a lot for almost a year now and have owned my 06 since january and have 17k on it.....

my question is, right now im running a k&n typhoon and apexi gt-spec catback, i was searching around because i want an accessport i figured it was the best option for me. Well i came across gruppe-s's site and they have a stage 2 package with a lightened crank pulley, walbro pump, accessport, and gruppe-s stage 2 map made for the exact mods. If i were to do this i would obviously purchase a downpipe to complete it for their stage 2 because thats all im missing from the stage1....i just want to know if the stage 2 package is worth it or should i just pick up the accessport and maybe a downpipe?

thanks~chris

Just get the accessport and downpipe.

As far as I know, a crank pulley won't need additional tuning and the stock injectors are already nearly maxed out on the stock fuel pump so a fuel pump is not needed unless you plan on taking the mods further.

PIck up the AP and a downpipe and flash to the COBB stage 2 map and call it a day. You dont need a fuel pump at this point.....

Yep AP and DP, and with the change you can get a Protune.

u wont need a fuel pump until you get a protune. At that point its just a good idea to get one for saftey reasons.

You won't hit fuel cut with a stage 2 setup. It's safe, reliable modding no questions asked!

Hmm. This depends on if you have a cattless or catted downpipe. With regular Stage II, and a catless downpipe, you will most likely experience boost creep and fuel cut. Catted, you might or might not. To help with this you would probably run a low wastegate map to help with the creep/spike. A protune won't solve (it's a mechanical defficiency) but will mask it. I am fully catless with a "super" free-flowing exhaust and a Protune and have never experienced boost creep or boost spike.

So whats better for the longevity of the car, a catless or catted downpipe???

never mind, just found my answer, --> catted

How did you find this 2 year old thread? There is no REAL answer to your question by the way. One is louder than the other and flows more.
