Default my Topspeed dynotune...

I went May 4th for my Topspeed Dynotune.

Trey and Doug were both friendly and helpfull. What is neat is that you have your own computer monitor to view while Doug is making the pulls. You can't see what he is adjusting but you can view the results with each pull making it very enjoyable for the customer.

My OEM BOV was leaking after 17 lbs. Doug said this was not a big deal as he was able to "tune around it."

What was neat was that he said this is the most power he had seen from the stock turbo on 93. Peak HP was 313 and max TQ was 346. We started with 275/300 with the Cobb 2 reflash. The reflash as is was super rich through the entire power band... over 10:1. Goes to show you haw conservative the stage 2 reflash really is and how good of a tuner Doug is.

Two points of interest. Doug was able to tune alot of the lag out of the DR525 fmic making the ride fun again. Throttle response was also greatly improved. Night & day difference and kudos to Doug. The car feels much stronger now.

The other thing is that I got 22mpg on the 500 mile trip up, cruising at 85mph with the AC on. Doug said that I might get metter mileage after the tune. I did! On the way home, I got 24 mpg under the same driving conditions.

Three times though on the way home I got the P0420 code with the check engine light and flashing cruise controle (something about a failing cat) and had to reset the ecu each time so I could use crusie control.

Well I don't have the cat. I think Doug might have forgotten to disarm the o2 sensor in his program for me. I have emailed him and spoken to Trey about the problem and I am waiting for a response & fix.

Funny thing is that I have driven over 300 miles now with no more CEL???

This was a very well spent $300 and I will back to see Topspeed for another tune after more mods. They were all a pleasure to work with and thier shop is in a very nice area. Lots to do there so bring the girlfriend.

I will have the dyno posted in a few days.

Steve

Some of the sensor light defeats are only tripped up during long highway cruises. :shrgug: That's how it is with many of them for the WRX anyhow. With Stage 2, I've ever gotten the light.

Well, if the real Trey reads this...

I emailed info@topspeedsales.com. Will you please forward this to Doug and try him on the cell again? I would like to get this done without having to wait for him to return from the races.

He could just email me the corrected program right?

I am still getting the P0420 CEL.

Thanks, Steve Scialli

Ok, here it is... yea, it pulls much harder. Best part is that Doug was able to tune the lag out of the DR525. If I speed shift, I can keep the boost up and the response is WAY WAY better. At first I thought I had made a big mistake using the DR525 before my turbo upgrade but its totally fine now. Thank you Doug!

thanks for the tech. help Daemon.
