Default Package deals on 20g/injectors/pump

Does anywhere have a good deal on a TD06-20g, injectors, and fuel pump?

Also, has anyone run the 20g on the stock TMIC without alcohol injection?
I'm just wondering if the heat soak issue is worse with the 20g as opposed to the stock turbo...

I really only notice a difference when driving in the city, with lots of stop and go, and this could be because I have a short ram intake too

This is my short term plan - 20g, stock TMIC, no alky. I'm going to wrap the turbo and DP, and use a modified stock heat shield to minimize that problem. Depending on Protune results next step may be a larger TMIC, then maybe alky if my local autox club allows it (non-scca).

Didn't find any package deals...did a pump and APS inlet pipe from XX, Helix 860cc from Gruppe-S, and a 20g from Robert at StaticX.

Hope helps a little.

Is it necessary to use the 860cc injectors or can you use the 820cc?

That's a question for your tuner. Use what they are familiar with and what they like. For a 20G you should be fine witrh 820cc injectors. The JECS/Nismo injectors (740cc) are popular with the 20gs so you'll be fine with 820s.

I would highly recommend getting them flow tested so you know 100% how many ccs they will really be injecting.

I noticed some gt35r kits coming with the 860's, so I figured it was overkill for a 20g.

Yea for a 20g 860cc's a bit overkill but it leaves room for when you decide to upgrade to a bigger turbo later.

There are some issues with getting REALLY big injectors for smaller turbos but once a tuner had set everything right with the injectors you'll be fine. There should be a few threads about tuning injectors somewhere in this forum or the Tuning forum.

Poor idle or something, right?

if you wanna stick with a tmic and are worried about heat soak, you could do the following:
wrap turbo, wrap dp, put on cut stock heatshield, add a speed monkee heat shield above that.

i have the dual heat shield set-up and i can put my hand on the speed monkee shield immediately after a run. it's barely even warm and i'm not wrapped.

Yes, I've heard the Nismo injectors are great for a 20g. But my tuner said the 860cc can idle ok, so I figured I would go with those to have more room up top for another upgrade.

Yea that and a few other things. I'm not an injector guru, WolfPlayer or some other people can explain it all better than I can. I was reading into it a lot since I was planning a 20g upgrade but that's on hold for a while since I just put a deposit down on a new house. Since then I've forgotten most of the stuff I learned about bigger injectors.

A lot of people are running 20gs w/ the stock TMIC and no issues. Wrapping/coating hot exhaust parts and using 1 or more heat shields can only help things.

Alcy will help a lot too.

I am running a 20G with stock TMIC, Nismo 740cc injectors and a Supra fuel pump.

I am not sure who drew the connection between a 20G and increased heat soak because it is probably incorrect. The stock turbo gets enormously hot under load because the turbine housing is so restrictive. The 20G is less restrictive and therefore the turbine housing creates less radiant heat under load or at idle. The 20G does however pump more air through the stock TMIC which means the IC may heat up faster under load and take longer to recover however that is offset by the fact that at higher pressures, the 20G blows colder.

My actual experience is that with a 20G and a wrapped DP and turbine housing, I am experiencing tremendously reduced underhood temperatures and far less heat soak than with the stock configuration. After a good romp, I can touch the intercooler core and surround and it feels as if it is about 85 degrees and I can briefly touch the heatshield. When it was stock, flesh would have fallen off my hand within three inches of the heatshield :-)

The Nismo injector performance is fine and very close to stock idle.

Very good point.

Where did you get your NISMO injectors from?

eBay and I paid about $530. They came with the replacement clips for the injector plugs. Make sure you get the clips when you buy the injectors...
