overview on the above pictures...

picture 1... notice the perfect fit?
picture 2... custom water sprayer from Lowes Garden Center
picture 3... other water sprayer (oem pump fed 2 sprayers no problem)
picture 4... there was no way to secure the lower lip on the 06' with this kit so I made my own with a piece left over plastic
picture 5... you will need zip ties to hold the fender liner to the lower lip
picture 6,7...

Steve

Why am earth am I using zip ties on body parts? On a related note, it looks like the 2006 does the brake duct thing a bit different, but for a 2004 at least, this install kind of screws that minimal ducting up since I have to cut up the liner there in order to get the liner up so I can use silly zip ties to hold said liner to the bumper cover. Um, that's professional.

I'm starting to wonder why I didn't buy the Perrin. Its intake/outlet tubes are higher and wouldn't present this problem. Of course, with it you might lose the foglights and it seems like the APS would keep them. But I don't have foglights and I do have brakes (and I don't like zip ties on body parts).

... so Daemon. You had to use zip ties on your 04 as well? Wow that sucks! I just figured I had to because this i/c was designed for the 04+.

ditto on the reason though... I to had to use them because the i/c piping was so low that it wouldn't allow me to properly clip the liner to the lower lip... and I had the i/c adjusted as far up as it would go.

As long as we are having a gripe session...

Peter stated in Vender Anouncements that the DR525 can be used with the stock turbo. Don't know about others but I have some pretty stout lag. I can no longer launch without a bog no matter what rpm I engage and throttle response on gone.

One thing is for sure. This thing should work great when I get a larger turbo. Overall i am very pleased with the install and fitment.

I am praying that Topspeed can somewhat tune this lag out on Thursday.

I'll keep you posted.

PS, where is Peter?

Steve

Actually, I should wait until I'm all done to complain about that. I'm not 100% certain I'll need to do it. But, I put the front on for a quick test fit and then realized there was no way I was going to not have to hack up those underbody pieces due to the low pipes. Then I looked in the "instructions" and it says to use zip ties, so I assume I'll end up doing that. I might see if I can't end up using normal body clips when the time comes.

BTW, I just put the driver's side turbo-to-IC pipe on and I don't have the same issue you had with the oil filler cap.

I wonder if I'm going to claim the award for longest time to complete a FMIC install.

Could be. One thing I noticed in your pictures is that you placed the pipe over the AC line while I fed mine under it. I don't know if that would make any difference.

Steve... was your replacement breather hose a bit on the short side? I wish it was around 3 inches longer.

Ok I read the whole thread and I have my answers.

Cheers

The only thing I painted was the bare metal from where I made my cuts (only for rust prevention, the cuts aren't visible). I didn't use any paint on the bumper.
