Default Alky Injection and tune

This will be for a daily driver. I will be Auto-X and a bit of drag racing. Here are the mods that I will be obtaining.

Helix FTBE
Cobb Stage 2

Mods to come:
APS Turbo Inlet Pipe
APS CAI 70mm
Gruppe-S V2 Headers

The reason I'm getting some unnesscary mods is because sooner or later I will defintaly upgrade to another turbo and get a FMIC. Though for now, why not utilize the full potential with the mods? As long as I'm getting a tune it won't mess anything up.

Now for the Water/ Alky-Meth injection ..

I've been reading many topics about this and still have yet to come to a specific choice. I've only read about SMC and Cooling Mist. I still don't know the diffrence of which to buy ..

SMC does not come with a fail safe kit ..
Cooling Mist does but I've heard that it doesn't work?

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!

If you are handy, you can turn the cooling mist flow sensor into a true fail safe unit

theres a DIY on how to make the IC spray boost activated, itwould be similar to this

Wire up a simple relay to only power up when you are in your spray boost range using the pressure switch, then have the flow sensor output hook up to the relay. When you are in boost, but not seeing alky flow, have the relay power a LED or other some sort of audio/visual warning device

hmm, how is that possible? I havent installed mine yet but after looking at it my understanding is that it blinks a light when flow is detected and the light remains solid when it is not flowing.

There was a wiring diagram on here a while back on how to make a failsafe with the SMC kit, but I can't find it. Does anybody have a link? The failsafe made it so when the low level light came on it cut power to the boost control solenoid. While not perfect, it's better than nothing.

So this signal can basically be used to turn anything on/off (boost solenoid, fuel cut, etc). Id send it to a relay, have that relay only be powered when you are in boost (pressure swtich), then use it as an on/off switch for whatever you choose.

yeah but as i said, the singnal is only constant when it's clogged but it blinks all the time it detects flow. please correct me if i'm wrong but if you tired to wire it that way it would cut power to your BCS every time it detected flow which is the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish.

You can set up an automotive relay to kill power or give power, depending on the signal you supply

Its simply an on/off swtich, it will open to ground or 12V, depending on how you wire it. Obviously, I would never wire it to cut boost when there is flow.

I would think that you could wire a pressure switch inline with the pump on the SMC kit and have it so an alarm (headlights on sound) and LED go off in the cabin. Then you would know to stay out of the gas pedal til you can get it home and figure out whats going on. Think this would work?
