Default info on alcohol injection

I'm interested in alky injection and was looking at the smc kit. I'm just wondering how often you have to fill the washer bottle back up, it's only one gallon I think.

Depends on what the settings are (at what boost does it activate) and how often you're really getting on it. Probably every other gas fill-up if using the OEM windshield washer tank.

my friend just put this in an evo, and it really depends on the boost activation, but you could always mount a 12L spec c tank in your trunk and refill it every month

refill depends on some things (how you drive/at what boost it's set to spray)...daily driven i have heard every two-three weeks.

It seems most tuners are setting the system to begin injection @ 10-14 psi. Whatever the final setting, as long you stay below that, it uses none; above that, it uses a lot.

An acquaintance (FPRed, W-A/I using the stock trunk tank, set to start injection at 12 psi) recently drove to L.A. and back on I-5 (1,600 miles). On the trip all he basically did was cruise @ 80 mph - he used about 1/2 of a tank on the whole trip. Around town, however, with the car in boost more frequently, he says he uses approx. one tank of injection juice per 2 tanks of gas (@ 400 miles). Unless my math is fubar'd, that's about an 8:1 difference.

IOW, take it to an HPDE event (where you're hard in boost all the time) and you'd better carry some spare juice.

It all depends on how you drive, with my snow performance kit I go from less than a tank of gas to 3 tanks of gas, really depends on you foot

I cruise mostly back and forth from work and don't hit boost that much. Have any of you used the smc setup and changed it to the 3 gal spec c tank or any other fuel cell, or do you know anyone who has? I'm curious as to how difficult it would be to mount the pump to the different tank. I'm debating on getting this. I'm getting a tune from Doug in 2 months when he comes out here. I want him to tune a second map on my AP for it if I get it.

I have the Spec C tank on its way as we speak. All you have to do is send your tank back to SMC with your new tank, and SMC will swap the pump into your new tank for you. I currently have the SMC kit and love it. And their customer service is second to none IMO.
