ok lookin for a couple opinions

ok im looking to get a couple opinions. my car seems to make alot of valve clatter, i think i am also hearing my pe injectors and a perrin ebcs that is no longer controling boost but is still in my cars vaccum system. i think the reason why my sti's valve clatter seems so loud to me is because i have a seibon carobn fiber vented hood and all the sound can escape as oppsed to a stock hood where there the only vent is the hood scoop and that is sealed to the intercooler. i guees what im asking is does anybody else feel they have really loud valve clatter and is it normal. ive been doing my searches but i cant really find the answers i need.

p.s. i come from the world of dsm and built 4g63 motors, so loud valve ticking isnt anything new to me. im glad to drive a built sti and ill never go back to mitsu engines, lovin my 400whp boxer engine thanx for the help guys

Are you refering to the faint "tick tick tick tick tick..." sound coming from the motor during idle?

yea thats the sound ecxept mine dosent seem that faint i dont know maybe im just being parinoied

The LOUD ticking is most likely the Perrin EBCS. Mine was. Now that I have my TXS Dtec with its selenoid, the ticking is gone.

^^Yep^^, thought my motor was coming apart when I heard the tick tick tick from the hood but was told by several people and my tuner it was the EBCS
