Default Stock dyno #'s on a dyno dynamics???

Took my 05 sti to the dyno last weekend. Was on a dyno dynamics dyno. I put down 239.9 hp. The tuner said that is one of, or is the highest hp he has seen on his dyno from a stock sti. He said every other sti has made 208-210 hp.The only thing that is done to the car is i cut off the stock muffler and welded on a magnaflow. Its worth maybe 10 hp but i dont think so. Just curious if anyone knows if this dyno reads low? Anywho now i can start the mods over again now that i have a base line.

^^ That is fairly impressive on a Dyno Dynamics.^^ These are really low reading dynos. Fully Protuned Stg 2 catless @ 5,400ft (no correction) I made 262HP/300TRQ. Looks like you've got a strong car there.

Can you post the graph of your actual power (HP/TRQ)?

Nice #'s! A local guy just put down 228whp with his Cobb Stg 2 on a brand new dyno dynamics the other day.

I concur. Protuned here also (catted) at the same place I made 257/300

I've heard of a dynodynamics ready anywhere between 220-240 for a stock car. They usually are all on the 220 side of things. My first pull with my stg2 pulled a 282(during the summer). I just did another round after my protune (on winter gas and spare rotors and pads in the trunk) and only pulled a 254. So, those #s are definatly high for a stock car.

Yep, those Dyno Dynamics dyno's read pretty low. I dynoed 248/275 on one at 5400ft uncorrected after a protune. I would have like to have seen what my car put down stock just to see how much of a difference there was.
That's pretty impressive that your car did that stock. Are you planning on getting protuned? It would be interesting to see the difference after.

I posted the wrong pic of the dyno here is the new one. Im not getting protuned until i get the stage 2 AP on it. Is there much difference between a base map and a protune?

I believe that your dyno operator either has the wrong dyno dynamics measuring software (the STI should be tested in shoot 44 software) or he is not tying the STI onto the dyno rollers correctly. If the car is not tied down correctly the tyres come out of the dyno rollers and this provides an artificially high power reading, by up to 30 whp. A stock US STI produces approx 208 - 212 whp on a dyno dynamics 4 wheel drive dyno tested in the correct shoot 44 software, hope this helps.

I'd be nearly sure to say that the STI was not strapped tightly onto the dyno - hence the high than expected power reading.
