Although it may sound good, the look of the one chamber on an sti has to look odd. That muffler is the size of a small book, i cant imagine how that looks coming out the back. On the other hand I have personally seen the flowmaster axleback for our cars...its not too bad. It is mandrel bent so i dont know why you guys keep on saying "go for mandrel." The piping is black and it uses I believe a delta flow 40 series 2 chamber. People knock on flowmasters only because they have think their technology is old and out of date. The mufflers make power, they made power on my cobra...they will make power on the wrx. However, I would not buy it...lol. You will have much better gains, looks, and potential with a 3 inch system.

They do make the mufflers with a 3 inch inlet and outlet though...right? I have a hookup at a muffler shop, so I can get the pipe bent that I want, just have to pick the muffler.

No pics unfortunately. I only had it a short time. It's still my dream muscle car and one day I'll replace it. It only had a 350. Maybe a 396 in the next one.

umm yeah, i am making a 3 in mandrel bent system, it is an american thunder 40 series. I am using an offset in, center out muffler. It is painted black. trying to get the sti tip to fit. The mufflers arent that big. It fits very nice in the stock location. All i wanted to know was if anyone had a sound clip, i dont need to know how to make an exhaust system or how a muffler works. Funny how things get off topic so fast.

A lot of guys run flowmasters on their jeeps, including myself. Are they expensive...no...are they pretty...no. But I will tell you they will hold the entire weight of a jeep on a rock with out being crushed. I would love to see any import muffler do that. So, I'm not quite sure if one can argue quality or durability. They are heavy mufflers though.

OK, I've cleaned this thread up and removed all the "this is how a muffler works" stuff (my own posts included). Let's keep this on topic of finding a sound clip for this guy.
