Default Total Price: Turbo Upgrade?

From your own experience what is the total price "out the door" for a larger turbo + supporting mods?

turbo, fmic or tmic, injectors, hoses, tuning, labor, etc...

thanks

Mine was around $3500 without tuning and labor. I do my own labor and the tuning is yet to come. If you go all out, probably in the $4000-5000 range.

Too many variables. You could get a nice 20G package that utilizes the stock TMIC with supporting mods and a tune for right around $2,000 or... you could spend $2,000 on a turbo alone (ie DB SZ55.) What are your goals for this upgrade?

So you will just be using this car strictly to do sprints from a dead stop to 150 mph all the time? You should budget for a rotated GT35R kit with the largest A/R you can get your hands on.

I would definitely not say all the time. From 0-60 the car is very impressive. However, I would like to improve the roll acceleration w/o hurting the 0 to 60 times.

I really like the lifetime rebuilds that Deadbolt offers.

A good top-end rush w/out losing much bottom end, huh? I would personally due a 3" inlet FP Green or a rotated GT30R kit with all the supporting mods. Both of these options offer up pretty quick spool and have a very nice top-end. Add water/alcohol injection for good measure. Either of these set-ups with water/alcy injection should give you enough power to accelerate "briskly" to 150mph.

Depends on how far you get into it. My GT30R parts by themselves were around $5k.

SZ55 is a great turbo as well. A lot of top-end with a small penalty in spool compared to the Green or GT30.

Cost for a standard SZ55 set-up without tuning or install should run about $4,500.

Perrin GT30R rotated mount kit $2700
Crawford / RPS Clutch $600
APS DR725 FMIC $1500
PE 850cc Injectors $750
Walbro Fuel Pump $100

Install $1,200
Tuning $450

That is what I purchased for my car last month....that's $7,300

But before I could get it installed I blew my motor....so last week I had to add to that:

Cobb Tuning Stage 2 Built Block with options: $4300

So that takes me up to $11,600

But that is doing it without cutting any corners....if you want instant gratification you could go with a Green or SZ49 and use the stock topmount until you save up more....with a setup like that you could get away with $3500 installed.

Off-hand, I think the APS intercooler is overkill for the GT30R (but you won't be sorry if you do upgrade from there), so you could knock $400 or so off that cost for a Perrin or TXS FMIC. I've also seen 820cc injectors for under $500. And of course DIY knocks a whopping $1200 off the install cost, so in total if you threw these compromises in, that would knock it down to about $5500 for a pretty kickass setup.

Of course that leaves out any exhaust or intake upgrades, but you already have those.

I will tell you unless you are purely after numbers that the 20G upgrade is more than enough to make you smile. I ran that setup before my current and it was a great setup. The difference to go the next step as I did, the guys are telling you correctly. It will cost you roughly $7,000+ to do it right...
