It's consistently worth almost 2 mph in the 1/4.

Anybody got the wiring diagrams of the IC sprayer switch. Looks like it's fairly easy to modify. I like the idea of spraying as you shift as oppose to continuos spray, and keeping the hands at the wheel at the same time.

I'm not a fan of that method. Here's another way (boost related) ....

http://www.bescaredracing.com/sti/in...r/DSC05337.JPG

Just put that little puppy inline with your mechanical boost gauge. Wire it to trigger the I/C spray solenoid (incredibly easy). Adjust for whatever boost you want. Now, whenever you hit your predetermined boost level - pow - the sprayer will spray down the intercooler. Easy as pie and very cheap.

Here's my diagram:

I figured out which wires to tap, thanks to Wolf's diagram. I got the start up switch off the clutch and will rewire (2wires) the IC spray to the clutch. I'm excited, I'll let you guys know my progress.
This site rocks, way better than Nasioc.

Seems like you would drain you intercooler spray resvoir.

Now to arm it, when your at full throttle seems like a better plan to me.

Just my 2cents

Default Clutch tie-in

STI'rcrazy...

Have you tied in your clutch switch to the IC?

As I read these posts, you'll use the factory IC switch as the 'arm' or 'set' switch. Then, the circuit is tied to the clutch switch.

With the IC 'set' each use of the clutch will allow two seconds of water to spray on the IC.

If you 'disarm' the main IC switch, the clutch does nothing to the IC spray.

Sounds like it may be a good compromise between the two second spray repeated over and over manually, vs some of the other methods of making an 'automatic' spray mode that I've seen on other posts.

So...let us know how that is all working out.

Thanks, Chuck.

Done!!! This mod kicks a$$!.
There are two parts to this mod. First is to relocate the start-up switch then tie in the IC spray to the clutch via sensor switch (where start-up used to be). I can start the car without pressing on the clutch. Push the "arming" switch on and the IC sprayer will fire whenever you shift (clutch in). Push "arming" switch off and it inactivates the spray.
Pop the IC switch out and unplug the wiring harness. There are 4 wires. You only need to splice 2 of these wires. Yellow/red stripe and Red/white stripe.

I chose not to splice because I want to keep the integrity of the wires in case I want to put things back to stock. So instead I made another wiring harness with male/female quick disconnects. Plug and play in a way.

Blue switch is to arm the IC spray via clutch. Red is for start-up.
Btw, the IC spray button is just a dummy switch now, not connected. I didn't want to modify it internally.

Just an idea, if one did the switch from pins 3-5 on the i/c switch it would be really easy(YR->RW), and would give the added benefit of running while boost was over threshold and for an additional 2 seconds after boost dropped off. This is equivalent to having it go from pins 2-4 on the timer/relay, and has the added benefit of pulling almost no current through the pressure switch. Depending on the switch, it might or might not be rated for the current needed(2 A I'd think, )
Nothing wrong with the current schematic, just a different way of doing it.

Greg,
Awesome suggestion. In fact, I think I will implement mine that way. I haven't implemented my auto control yet because I want to figure out how I want to do the toggle switch (either hidden or through the use of the JDM I/C auto spray switch that I currently have installed). I like being able to utilize the JDM I/C spray switch when sitting at idle in traffic to prespray the I/C. It's nice to turn it on and leave it on for 30sec or so during a very hot day. Thus, I'm not a huge fan of repurposing this switch for boost-related control since I use it a lot when there is no boost. I am leaning toward a hidden switch that I basically turn on during the spring/summer/fall and turn off in the winter. For me, I ALWAYS want boost-related I/C spraying except when the water in the I/C tank is frozen (winter time). A hidden toggle should suffice nicely while still allowing me to utilize my JDM switch for stop 'n go when there is no boost.

All,
For those that want to know where I got the switch, I got it through ebay. I plan to do a writeup soon on this install (unless nhluhr beats me to it since I know he has one of these little puppies too ).

tuswm,
If you can, please edit your post to not show the pictures. If people want, they can click on the links I put in my post. When you display the pics then it forces them to download it whether they want to see it or not and that eats up my bandwidth.
