Default Helix catted Downpipe worth it?

Hello. I just have a typhoon and about to buy this helix catted downpipe, A) less chance of creep B) smell C) no CEL, i hope. But how does it perform? What sort of gains are people seeing? I will be keeping the stock catback exhaust. What heat shield are you guys using? thanks in advance.

Yes, it's worth it. I have the full Helix turbo back. The downpipe is awesome. I'm using the speedmonkee heat shield. Has a really clean look to it. You won't have to worry about a cel or boost creep. At least I haven't so far.

Great thank you. Did you do the install yourself or have it done? If you did it yourself, how long did it take?

i did it myself. took me 5 hours total, but it will be shorter for you since you probably don't have the 2nd catch can setup that i have.

took me 2hours to take everything apart. i didn't take the IC off where most people suggested, if you have the right tools you can get to those bots under the IC. the hardest part is to loose the bots. i found that a flex head breaker bar is the most useful to get the bots loose.

after everything is out, it is pretty easy to put everything back together. it probably took me 1 hour to just put everything back, 1 hour to cut and fit the stock heat shield and the extra hour is what you don't need, putting my 2nd catch can back in place.

if you have question, i followed this instruction even though it is for a forester, but engine stuff is the same between STi and the forester.

edit: oh, the heat shield template you see in this link is not going to fit right, i have to cut a lot more from that template. thats why it took me an hour to cut and fit the heat shield
good luck

I'm getting mine installed in a day or two, I'll let you know how it is. I have a K&N filter and a catback, so it would be a good comparison.
