Talking Got my cobb pulley installed

Got the cobb lightweight pulley installed. Dealership said, if they put it on, I got to keep warranty. Master Subaru tech did it while doing oil change. awesome. I love it, no downside, great mod. Faster revs, faster spool up, and all around better feel. I also feel good knowing my motor has had some strain alleviated from it. Might even see a little better gas mileage, who knows. I really truelly recommend that peice to ANY ONE. Tommorow or the next day, I should have my exhaust installed and for sure I am doing my AP tommorow in the morning. Going with stock as base map, and stage 1 as RL until I can get the pipe on, and then its stage 2 for RL map. I plan to keep stock as my base map incase anything ever happens and I dont have my AP with me, I can disconnect the battery, reconnect, and then limp the car home. Sound good? I think it sounds good to me. Thanks!

P.S. Buy a lightweight pulley. They are awesome.

Good to finally see a review for the cobb pulley. Not too many reviews regarding it's benefit so far, so interesting to see the positive aspects of the install.

Hmm, I wonder if my dealership will install the pulley for me and let me keep my warranty. I've wanted to do this mod but figured there was no way to do without without voiding the warranty.

I should also mention, your stock heavy pulley acts as a dampener, so you will get a little engine noise, but not much out of this peice. I love it, and think it sounds meaner, the women folk thinks it makes my car sound "rough". I'm not worried about it, I think all its benefits out weigh anything else. There is also ABSOLUTELY NO problem with charging with this peice. It is definatly not under driven, so all your stuff will work fine. Aka- air conditioner etc etc etc. Im going to do my stage 1 ap upgrade, cruise for a bit, then get my pipe done and go do stage 2. I will let ya all know how all these parts work when I am done.

When flashing Cobb Stage 2, it is recommended to flash base map Stage 2.

As gt42sti said it is recommended that you run the AP stage 1 or Stage 2 (if you have a downpipe) as your base map and NOT the stock map. I have a friend with a WRX that tried using the stock map as a base map and it caused all kinds of problems (couldn't hit target boost, detonating, etc.). If I were you I would run the 91 octane map for either stage 1 or 2 as my base map and then run the 93 octane map (if you can get 93) as my real time.

How much did you get it for?
I was thinking about getting a pulley, but will probably go for a non-underdriven one just to be on the safe side and to be able to use stock belts.

That dealer install thing keeping warranty is wrong. Nobody (especially a dealer) has any clue what effect this will have on internal engine stresses and thus engine life. My dealer won't even touch any non-STi parts, no matter how much you pay them. If something happened hopefully your dealer would back you up. But if SOA got wind of that, no dice.

Subaru of dallas installed mine, so yeah dealers touch aftermarket parts. Since they installed it they said come to them any warranty issues. I have no problems what so ever with the pulley, but like mentioned above...the engine does make some extra noise. Iv noticed a humming noise at idle.

If it happens it happens...every modification has its downsides and risks.
