Unhappy CUSCO 15mm hose Oil Catch Can help?

Okay,
I just got the Cusco Oil catch Can for my 2004 Sti. It comes with one 15mm hose, all mounting hardware and a metal plug.

I'm familiar with the install of other Catch cans, including the Cusco with the dual 9mm hoses....they get hooked to the breather hoses running along side the intercooler. After searching many forums and not being able to read the Japanese instructions that came with it.....I'm lost

Where in the heck do i hook this 15mm hose to and what gets plugged, It also shows in the Japanese instructions that only one side of the Catch can being used.

Please send your knowledge my way...I really want to get this hooked up.

Thanks
Terry

Cusco makes a 15mm or a 9mm kit. I used the 9mm with no issues.

I used this as a reference. I ordered the 15 mm kit as well, however I did not use the lines that came with it. Got some 1/2" tubing from Home Depot that worked perfectly, moreover, and looks just like the picture on the Cusco Oil catch can box.

If you looking at the cusco can with the clear indicator tubing in the front, the left side is the "in", and the right side is "out." "In" is from the metal breather line from the intercooler, and the "out" goes back into the intake near the alternator. Hope this helps.

Chris05Sti (I believe) has the same can, and you can reference in his journal. I put mine where our stock boost control solenoid is.

i appreciate the replies.

i found the DIY for the duel setup here, and thought i was doomed for getting something so specific to only one place in the engine bay.

below is the 15mm kit that i got from RallySportDirect (service outstanding just as i had heard) however i believe i did not know what questions to ask and feel i got something that is more bling then function factor. turns out i will need some media inside it to catch the condensing oil or it will pass through, and my largest concern, that having one is only half the battle. (see the link above) the kit only comes with half the hoses you need and although i clearly don't read Japanese, the pics clearly show that you need more hardware than it comes with. coming from Cusco, that is very disappointing for future purchases i've thought about.

My cusco can looks different than that. Mine is the oval one. I'm assuming that the one referenced in the pic is the universal one? At that location, if you go fmic in the future you'll have to move the catch can.

the cylindrical can is actually the universal one, this specific shape/image that i linked above is only created for this position, only in a subaru. the cylindrical can will have alternate bracket configurations making it general enough to fit into any engine bay, again just pending on the bracket it ships with.

good call on the FMIC, another negative to the setup.

Hmmmm. You could always send that one back and get the universal one like mine (lol). The universal one appears to have more mounting options. Man, I thought mine was the subaru specific. Oh well. I got mine from Z1, and it was my first purchase from them. I was pleased.

i found his page (dig on the front lip, heh), you do know he has two also? it seems like if you are going to do this, you have to cover that pcv valve also. hell, some guys seem to be reporting that most (even if it is just a little) of the blow by is actually coming from the pcv, and NOT the breather.

though i'm just rolling stock turbo (granted at a little higher PSI), and have sworn not to upgrade past this "stage 1", i do want to do the little feel good things that might keep her running longer, two catch cans may be overboard, but why go one when some even report that having just one is only half the battle?

i do this for those who search, praise be to the search.
