Ok so I know a BOV isn't needed until you replace the turbo and push 9 billion AWHP, but I love the sound.

I also know that they can possibly decrease the HP of the STi.

Is there a BOV that I can just slap on, that sounds good and doesn't have an effect on the car with the stock ECU?

Gratz!

i've looked at the hybrid ones...
people say worx is good...some didn't like it
gfb also...haven't heard any complaints on that..

if you want atmospheric...try the forge.

Are there benifits to the atmospheric compared to the recirculating BOV? My main concern is to keep power, second is to have a nice sound at shifting.

just get the k&n typhoon intake, from what people say it will let you hear the bpv sound and won't hurt your performance

Na... I've gotten intakes before, they kill throtle response in the '04+'s as well as some horses.

Is there any benifit to the BOV besides the nifty sound?

well i highly doubt an intake is going to hurt performance as much as a bov will

Kill throttle response? Lose hp? I love my new (3 days ago) K&N typhoon because it spools quicker, less lag in throttle response and there has been a proven 12hp (K&N dyno as well as others) at the wheels with these.

Ok well they can be beneficial but only with EM on the 04 and 05's... the damn MAF sensor is too damn picky.

It has also been proven that no intake on the mentioned years is more effecient than the stock airbox unless you are pushing more than 350WHP.

Yes, I too was blinded by how cool it sounded.. but in reality it isn't as quick as the stock box.... give it a month or so.
