Save your money and just remove the intake silencer.

Default When Are The 06 STI's.....

if you do remove the silencer for the purpose of getting louder noises, don't replace it with an elbow, otherwise the car will sound the same. at least that is what happened with my car.

A bigger turbo will not change the ECU's confusion on how much mass air is in the engine when vented to atm. You would need to go to a different EM that would use air metering (MAP) instead of a MAF to make the system happy with a BOV.

BTW guys, some of you seem to be confused:
BOV = Blow Off Valve (Vent to atm)
BPV = ByPass Valve (Recalculate back into the unpressurized intake system)

They are NOT the same thing. STi's have a BPV stock.

Honestly i think the whole deal with BOV is a joke. People buy the BOV that vent 100% to the atmosphere without major mods, complain about the running rich, rough idle etc, and make BOV ingeneral bad.

Personally I bought a GFB Stealth FX, and it is fully adjustable. They say for noise, but it controls the venting. This is the safest bet if you have either a stock vehicle or slightly modded. I plan on getting a cat-back and intake for my car and thats it for a bit on the engine side. No real power gains, but i want to keep my warranty for a bit so flame as you will. It's not like I am wasting my money becuase all I have to do is get a downpipe and I have a tbe, and if I get the AP I will be at stage 2. So that is when I want to piss off the dealer people.....

just my $0.2

redlinr,
but you spent $300 for a BOV that is functionally inferior to the stock BPV. So while you may not do any harm, and I'm not sure I believe that, you have wasted your money on something that does not do any good.
