Default detune sti turbo

i'm eagerly awaiting your numbers, as are others - and i'm sure you'll finish up this thread soon but i want some more review of your 3" APS exhaust! particularly on the highway...is there any droning or resonance? how is the sound increase over stock - at idle/cruising?

i made the mistake of getting the turboxs stealthback/prodrive muffler, and it does this oscillating resonance that's noticeable above 65mph...i think because there is no resonator after the cat. i realize you got yours catless, so there may be additional noise due to that - but please give some more details

um....

i dont know what happened above; my post was cut off....

(jeeze)

sorry for holding back fellas!

awhp = 304.6 peak
aw lb-ft tq. = 310.2 peak (over 300 @ 3200 rpm)

these measurements were done @ 18 psi, but due to the non-inertia effects of the dynapack dyno, the car actually runs to 19.5 psi on the street (so, i sassume the hp/tq. values could go even higher....)

this thing is BRUTAL compared to how it was when i brought it in (had the i/c, a k/n panel filter, and jdm sti sport axleback, but those mods pale in compariosn)

this exhaust is nice; im disappointed with the tip, as i really liked the 4-7/8" tip of my jdm sportback one (thinking about welding!!). it has a resonator tube, which must help for drone, because at highway speeds it is VERY well mannered, and 6th gear crusing is unbelieveably silent (not stock quiet, okay)

when on the street, b/w lights, if you granny shift, its very throaty-rumbly, but not annoying. when you let loose, it howls and barks, and the BPV explodes and echoes BETTER than the worx tuning BOV i had....

i am driving a whole new car guys.... really........

another issue::

braking

BIGTIME

i alreaddy have bobcats (my carbotech), but fin that it is VERY easy to 'overdrive' them on the streeet. i have to intentionally watch the boost, as it slams so fast and hard that im running up all over people now....

yeah, tough life, isnt it??

lol

esemes, I was at Mastro and your car sounded awesome. Glad everything worked out for you. I really like your debadged trunk, too. Quite a nice ride you have.

hey, i saw your car at mastro on saturday. i was there to balance my wheels (bought an white sti there 2 weeks ago and switched the silver to gold rims). i didnt know that there happened to be a meet at the same time. i was really tempted to get the aps intake on the counter, but i decided to wait until i have a few thousand miles first. i saw yours tho. looked awesome! too bad i had to leave back to orlando. would be nice meeting some of u guys.
