Default WRX Sedan Pics... All Years!! Lets See'em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i was pretty much sold on getting the K&N typhoon, i then talked with Cobb tunning (cause i will purchase the AP when it is released for the '05), and was told i can not run the intake with a AP. i would like to know if anyone is running the AP and a intake, and if so do you have any problems (running lean issuses, caused from the intake screwing with the MAF). just to give you some more input i'm looking at keeping it safe and reliable. i'm not looking to go nuts on the car.

thanks
andrei

Then don't worry about a Typhoon at this stage of the game. The K&N looks promising but the AP changes fuel maps and boost levels so you don't know, in the long run, whether something negative might occur.

Check with Toophless on Cobb's message board in the STi forum. He is running AP Stage II with the Typhoon on his STi.

i have an APS intake with my accessport (stage 1)
and my exhaust tip still gets pitch black instantly. so my guess is that it runs as rich as it did stock

I have the typhoon and I am running stage 2 as well. Sounds like a power drill all the time.

i had the ap "compatibility" conversation with a cobb tech very early on and was told (and i promise i am relating this for the last time) that they (cobb) had just dyno'd an sti with a typhoon and it "did ok". they were unwilling, however, to extrapolate a recommendation based on one typhoon installation.

based on 3,000, much of it hard-driven, miles i've accumulated with both stage 1 and stage 2 ap, i can tell you it is an outstanding investment and will give you a chubby every time you drive it. my only regret is that i'll have to switch to a different intake when i go to a fmic next season.
