I installed the k@n typhoon about to weeks ago. Love it.
Do I need to take that elbow thing out along with the thing that connects to it? If not would it make a difference if I did?

Default Custom exhaust??

i have been askin this for a few weeks. no one has, the directions dont tell you to. so i think im leavin mine in until somone can give some proof that removing it helps. hope this helps....

Left mine in, too. Any pics you come across show it still in there. As far as pros vs. cons. I don't see any of either.

the K&N guys told me leaving it in actually helps.. i dont see where the thing draws air in.. when the hood is closed, it seems to be totally sealed off.. but i did take an air nozzle at work and blow into the front scoop and i actually felt a lot of air coming out of the tube.. so my guess is, if any air finds its way into the front scoop, it all gets pushed right at the filter which is perfect.

there is only one typhoon for the sti, and it is a short ram.
